Who runs this site
Switch From Gas is for Denver-area homeowners who want to get off gas and would like to see the steps before talking to anyone.
Estimates and installs
When you send photos or book a visit from this site, the request goes through Plenum, our estimate and scheduling system, and an estimator replies with a price for your house.
Where the prices come from
Each price range comes from our own recent estimates for Denver-area homeowners. Half of those estimates fall inside each range, a quarter below it and a quarter above it, rounded to $100. The ranges for a heat pump with a new gas furnace and for a ducted heat pump follow our current pricing instead. Out-of-pocket figures are what most Xcel gas customers in the Denver metro have paid since October 1, 2026, after every rebate. The heat pump chart on the homepage comes from the same estimates. We publish ranges and percentages, never job counts.
Rebates are left out because they change. Xcel changed its programs on October 1, 2026. See current rebates.
The roadmap
Your choices on the roadmap are saved only in this browser. The roadmap gives typical prices and wiring notes. It doesn't size equipment or check your panel; an electrician's load calculation does that.
